Pickup at any Mumbai hotel, enter the expressway at Kalamboli (Navi Mumbai), and a single toll-paid run of 95 km gets you past Khalapur food plaza, through the Lonavala ghat tunnels and down into the Pune plains. Exit at Chandani Chowk for Pune hotels; Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar and Viman Nagar (airport-side) are 30–45 minutes from the expressway exit depending on traffic.

Is the Samruddhi Mahamarg an alternative?
No — Samruddhi is the Nagpur-Mumbai expressway. For Mumbai-Pune the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway (E Way) is the only six-lane option and is well-maintained. NH48 is the slower parallel alternative via Khandala — rarely used now.
What about Mumbai-Pune traffic on Friday evening and Sunday evening?
The expressway entry from Mumbai on Friday 17:00–21:00 and the Pune-Mumbai return on Sunday 17:00–22:00 can double travel time to 5+ hours. We schedule business trips for off-peak windows and warn leisure travellers to budget buffer.
Can we stop at Lonavala or Khandala?
Yes — both are exit options from the expressway with 45-minute loops back to the main road. Chikki shopping at Lonavala and Bhaja caves at Malavli are the common pauses. Full sightseeing is better as a dedicated Mumbai-Lonavala trip.

What is driver allowance and night halt?
Driver allowance is a daily charge covering the driver's meals and incidentals during outstation duty. Night halt is an additional charge when the vehicle is retained overnight. Both vary by city — contact us for specifics.
